چکیده
This paper describes a test setup and methodology for centrifuge modeling of energy pile pullout from saturated soft clay, with the goal understanding how heating improves interface shear strength through thermal consolidation. A kaolinite clay layer was first consolidated outside within cylindrical container an inner diameter 551 mm using hydraulic piston to reach thickness 220–240 then permitted equilibrate in under 50 g. An aluminum having model-scale 25 length 255 m installed at constant displacement rate embedded into underlying sand layer. electrical resistance heater used heat soil-pile target temperature, thermocouples pore water pressure transducers were track coupled transfer flow processes. Detailed results are reported baseline on unheated where performed after 20°C 65°C cooling back no head restraint. The capacity heated 1.43 times greater than that pile. Insights increase gained undrained shear-strength profiles layers measured push-pull T-bar penetration tests pullout.

Many offshore structures are subjected to overturning moments due to wind load, wave pressure, and ship impacts. Also most of retaining walls are subjected to horizontal forces and bending moments, these forces are due to earth pressure. For foundations in such structures, usually a combination of vertical and batter piles is used. Little information is available in the literature about estimat...

this paper presents the numerical analysis of seismic soil-pile-superstructure interaction in soft clay using free-field soil analysis and beam on winkler foundation approach. this model is developed to compute the nonlinear response of single piles under seismic loads, based on one-dimensional finite element formulation. the parameters of the proposed model are calibrated by fitting the experi...
متن کاملCentrifuge modelling of sand compaction piles in soft clay under embankment load
Sand compaction piles are used in practice for ground improvement of soft subsoil in order to accelerate consolidation, reduce compressibility, and increase strength. The current design procedure of sand compaction piles is based on simple empirical calculations, which does not take full account of the sand pile behaviour. This research project investigates the behaviour of a base reinforced em...
